Morocco’s national carrier Royal Air Maroc has cancelled several flights after the closure of parts of the airspace in the Middle East.

The airline said other services could also be affected in the coming hours, citing the strict application of aviation safety and security standards.

In a statement, Royal Air Maroc said the disruption was due to circumstances beyond its control. It said its teams were monitoring the situation in real time to inform affected passengers as quickly as possible and to adjust its flight schedule in line with decisions taken by the relevant air navigation authorities.

“Due to the closure of certain airspaces in the Middle East region, some of our flights have been cancelled, and others may also be cancelled, in accordance with the strict application of aviation safety and security standards,” the company said.

The airline urged customers to check the status of their flight before travelling to the airport. Passengers are also advised to update their contact details through the “Manage My Booking” section on the company’s official website to receive notifications about their journey.
