The murals created for Morocco’s 2025 Jidar street-art festival are now up for the first Grand Prix Jidar (GPJ). The public can vote from 20 March to 16 April.
The prize aims to celebrate the festival’s murals, which marked its tenth anniversary last year. Organisers said it will become “a regular appointment” to pick “the mural of the year.”

The GPJ launch comes just before the next festival, starting 17 April. It gives the public more chance to get involved and highlights the murals.
“This initiative aims to show the artistic quality of the murals made during the festival, celebrate the different styles and artists in Rabat, strengthen the heritage and lasting value of murals in the city, and let the public help recognise the works,” the organisers said.
The prize will go to “the artist whose work has most impressed the public by receiving the highest number of votes.” People can vote through the festival website or on its social media pages.
The festival turns Rabat’s walls into “big artistic canvases, inviting Moroccan and international artists to bring original and lasting works to the city.”
Over the years, organisers said, “these murals have gradually formed a real open-air urban art trail, putting the city on the map for international street art.”
