The Royal Moroccan Football Federation and the National Airports Office have signed a deal to improve airport services for Moroccan teams and sports delegations.

The agreement was signed at Rabat-Sale Airport and aims to make travel smoother during major sports events. The plan includes faster airport procedures, better reception services and closer coordination when Morocco hosts big football tournaments.

The move is part of preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2030, which Morocco will co-host with Spain and Portugal.

Morocco is expanding its airports to handle up to 80 million passengers a year.

A major project is a $1.3bn new terminal at Casablanca Mohammed V Airport. It will raise capacity from 15 million to 35 million passengers and include a high-speed rail link to Rabat and Marrakech.

Rabat-Salé airport is also getting a new terminal for up to four million passengers a year. Budget airline Ryanair has already opened a base there.

Work is also underway at Marrakech Menara Airport to improve passenger flow and aircraft parking.

At Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport, a new extension will triple capacity to seven million passengers by 2029 and link the airport to the high-speed train network.
