Tractafric Motors has taken over the distribution of DAF Trucks in Morocco, replacing CFAO.
More than 10,000 DAF trucks are already on the road in the country. The brand, owned by PACCAR, will now rely on Tractafric’s network to reach more customers.
Tractafric plans to use its sales and service network to support companies working in transport, logistics and distribution.
The partnership was launched at Dar El Bacha, with senior figures from both sides present, including chief executive Abdelali Ennaciri and DAF’s operations director Jan van Keulen.
The company also put on display the trucks at the 13th edition of LOGISMED in Casablanca. The event brought together more than 6,000 visitors and over 140 exhibitors, with more than a third coming from abroad.
At its stand, Tractafric displayed several DAF models, along with a heavy-duty FAW truck and a fully electric Yutong vehicle. Talks focused on running costs, vehicle performance, availability and the move towards cleaner energy.
To support existing customers, Tractafric is setting up a more organised service network. Its Casablanca site covers 8,000 square metres and includes a showroom, a workshop that can handle up to 12 vehicles at the same time, and a large spare parts area.
The group already has branches in Tangier and Agadir, and plans to open more in Fes, Kenitra, Marrakech and Laayoune.
The trucks now on offer in Morocco include the XF, XG, XG+, XD and XB models. The XF, XG and XG+ are built for long-distance transport, while the XD is aimed at regional and city use. The XB is a smaller model suited to urban deliveries.
Tractafric Motors is part of the Optorg Group, which reports annual revenues of nearly 900 million euros. Optorg is backed by Al Mada.
The wider Tractafric business operates through two main divisions. Tractafric Equipment focuses on heavy machinery and represents brands such as Caterpillar in several African markets. Tractafric Motors handles vehicle assembly, distribution and maintenance, working with global brands including Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Isuzu and Hyundai across more than 20 countries.
The company has a broad footprint across Africa, operating in more than 20 countries and supplying equipment and vehicles for sectors ranging from mining to large infrastructure projects.
In Morocco, Tractafric has long been the Caterpillar dealer in the country and has built up local operations that include vehicle assembly, customisation and fleet maintenance.
DAF has existing sites in Casablanca, Tangier and Agadir, which sit on key trade corridors, while planned expansions aim to cover the country’s main economic hubs.
