Ever had a slow internet connection just when you needed to download a huge file, stream a big event or spend a weekend gaming? Moroccan telecom operator inwi says it has a solution.
The company has launched “Fiber Boost”, a new service that allows fibre customers to temporarily increase their internet speeds without changing their subscription plans.
The service is available to customers on 20 Mbps, 50 Mbps and 100 Mbps fibre packages who have been with the operator for at least three months.
Customers on a 20 Mbps plan can boost their speed to 50 Mbps. Those on 50 Mbps can move up to 100 Mbps, while 100 Mbps subscribers can temporarily increase their speed to 200 Mbps.
The speed boost can be activated for either two days or seven days through the My inwi app or by calling 220.
A two-day pass costs 10 dirhams, while a seven-day pass costs 30 dirhams. The charge is added to the customer’s next monthly bill, with no upfront payment required.
inwi has also set a monthly spending limit of 100 dirhams on the service.
The operator says the offer is a first in Morocco and is aimed at people whose internet needs change from time to time. Instead of paying more every month for a faster package, customers can increase their speeds only when they need extra performance.
The service requires no new equipment or changes to a customer’s home internet setup.
