The National Airports Office (ONDA) has named El Arbi Es-Sobaihi as the new director of Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca as the country’s biggest airport prepares for higher passenger numbers and the Airports 2030 plan.
Mohammed V Airport is the busiest airport in the country and the main gateway for international travellers. Es-Sobaihi will lead efforts to improve daily operations, speed up passenger processing and support future growth.
Es-Sobaihi has worked in airport operations for more than 20 years. He previously managed terminal operations and later led the airport’s operations department. Since 2025, he has coordinated work between different departments at Mohammed V Airport. He also helped deliver several major projects, including the opening of Terminal 1.
His new role includes improving on-time performance, passenger flow, customer service, safety, coordination between airport teams and overall passenger satisfaction. He will also oversee the airport’s long-term growth as passenger numbers continue to rise.
ONDA is investing in airport infrastructure to handle growing air traffic and prepare for the 2030 FIFA World Cup. The organisation said the appointment reflects its decision to put experienced airport professionals in charge of major transformation projects.
