Doctors, researchers and students can now join a new series of free online seminars on how to assess medical research. The Faculty of Medical Sciences at UM6P Hospitals is organising the sessions with the Network for Collaborative Oncology Development & Advancement (NCODA) and the African Organisation for Research and Training in Cancer (AORTIC).
The seminars will focus on how to read, assess and compare scientific studies, with a focus on cancer research.
Participants will learn how to judge the quality of research and combine findings from different studies. The programme will cover methods such as systematic reviews, meta-analyses and decision modelling.
The sessions are open to healthcare workers, biomedical and clinical researchers, and students in Morocco and other countries. They will take place fully online and are free to attend.
This type of training is important in cancer care because new medicines and clinical studies are being developed quickly. Doctors need reliable evidence to decide which treatments are most effective.
The programme aims to help participants make better use of scientific research in their work and studies.
UM6P Hospitals is based in Health Care City in Benguerir. The institution works with the Faculty of Medical Sciences and ISSB Labs.
The hospital network has 350 beds across three centres. These include a 140-bed general hospital, a 60-bed geriatric centre and a 120-bed rehabilitation and post-care centre.
The hospitals also have medical imaging and pathology equipment, including 3T MRI scanners.
AORTIC was founded in 1983 and works on cancer research, cancer control programmes and medical training across Africa.
NCODA was founded in 2015. It works with oncology teams and provides education for doctors, pharmacists and students.
The new programme follows other partnerships between UM6P and public health institutions.
UM6P signed a five-year agreement with the Moroccan Agency for Medicines and Health Products in June 2026. The agreement covers biomedical research, digital transformation and specialised training.
UM6P Hospitals also signed an agreement with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in October 2025. The work focuses on emergency care, regional SAMU coordination and medical training.
