A wave of leaked personal data has led to claims that security databases were hacked. The DGSN and DGST have now denied any breach of their systems. The two security agencies said the personal data shared recently online did not come from their databases. The data is old and was taken from databases and information systems run by insurance companies and social and health coverage organisations, according to a statement from the DGSN-DGST.
The agencies also warned about fake photos and documents being shared online.
Some photos have been presented as showing male and female security officers. Some documents have also been presented as official security documents.
The agencies said the material is fake. Some of the images show military uniforms and ranks that do not exist in Morocco and are not used by the DGSN.
The fake documents also contain incorrect logos and other visual details, as well as obvious grammar mistakes.
The DGSN and DGST also rejected claims that their security databases had been hacked.
Their security data systems are not connected to networks open to the internet, the agencies said.
A security investigation is under way under the supervision of the relevant public prosecutor. Authorities are working to identify and arrest those behind the creation and spread of the false information.
