Groupe BCP has won a 2026 award for its work with entrepreneurs and very small businesses (TPE). The World Union of Arab Bankers (WUAB) named the group the “Best Bank for Entrepreneurship & TPE Development in Morocco for the Year 2026”. The award was presented in Istanbul on September 11 during the Arab Banks Awards & Commendations of Excellence ceremony.

The award comes as Groupe BCP celebrates its 100th anniversary. Its Fondation Création d’Entreprises (FCE) is also marking 35 years of supporting entrepreneurs.

Mourad Azzam, senior director in charge of the TPE, merchants and artisans market, accepted the award with Hassan Charraf, secretary general of the FCE.

Groupe BCP’s lending to TPEs grew strongly this year. Credit production for the sector was up 33% by the end of July compared with the same period in 2025.

The group has also expanded its Al Moukawil Chaabi centres to more regions. The centres offer banking services as well as business support.

The FCE helped nearly 21,000 people during the first seven months of 2026. Its support covers business plans, help for Moroccan entrepreneurs abroad and advice for small businesses looking to grow.

Groupe BCP also held the third edition of its Régionales de l’Investissement programme this year. The programme visited eight locations across the country to meet business owners and discuss their financing needs.

“This distinction recognizes a commitment deeply rooted in Groupe BCP’s historical mission—to support those who undertake projects and contribute to the economic development of our territories,” Mourad Azzam said.

“Our ambition is to go beyond financing by offering TPEs a global system combining proximity, support, expertise, and innovation.”

The group said its model brings together its regional banks, digital tools and support organisations to help small businesses create jobs and build sustainable businesses.
