For the past week, El Jadida’s corniche has been graced with a Biblio-Plage, a special outdoor library designed to offer a unique reading space for both young and old during the summer season. Under the theme “Reading is Life,” this initiative, now in its fourth edition, was launched by the Friends of the Media Library Association in collaboration with the Provincial Association of Cultural Affairs of El Jadida (APAC) and the Tachfini Media Library. The Biblio-Plage is set up with several shelves and offers beachgoers a wide selection of books.

Visitors have quickly embraced the habit of stopping by this reading space, borrowing books to enjoy throughout the day and returning them in the evening. Alongside the library, a rich and varied program is offered, including coloring workshops aimed at raising environmental awareness, storytelling sessions using the Japanese “kamishibai” technique (a traditional paper theater), and workshops focused on road safety, photography, and more.

On Saturday, in celebration of National Migrant Day (August 10), the Biblio-Plage organized special workshops for Moroccans living abroad, designed to introduce them to aspects of local and national cultural heritage.

El Jadida’s Biblio-Plage not only enriches the summer experience but also fosters a deeper connection to culture and literature, making it a must-visit spot on the corniche.
