Starting September 18, 2024, in Rabat, TLScontact will implement a new procedure aimed at curbing visa appointment fraud for France. This initiative primarily targets first-time visa applicants, including those applying for family, tourist, or private visits, scientific research, business trips, paid internships, and participation in cultural, artistic, scientific, or sporting events. It will also cover employees working for French or foreign nationals.
The procedure begins with the online submission of the visa application through the France-Visas website, followed by registration on the TLScontact platform. Once the application is validated for the specific visa type, applicants will be required to participate in a video call for identity verification. During the call, they must present their passport, after which they will receive an email confirming the result of the verification.
This measure aims to ensure fair access to appointments for legitimate applicants, preventing fraudulent networks from hoarding and reselling slots at exorbitant prices.
Once their identity is confirmed, applicants will be placed on a waiting list for up to 45 days. If they do not secure an appointment within that time, they will be allowed to submit a new application.
For now, this new procedure applies only to Rabat and specific visa categories. Depending on the results, TLScontact may extend it to other cities and visa types in the future.
