The Ministry of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment, and Skills (MIEPEEC) unveiled its new digitalized processes on Friday in Rabat, launching a comprehensive platform that aims to enhance Morocco’s role as a regional digital hub. This initiative, dubbed “Digitalization at the Service of Employment and Professional Relations,” supports the government’s broader effort to modernize public administration, following the Royal directives to integrate modern technologies for citizen services, streamline procedures, and boost economic competitiveness and investment.
During the launch, Younes Sekkouri, the Minister of Economic Inclusion, underscored the strategic importance of digital transformation for the employment sector, noting that digitalization marks a critical step toward more efficient and transparent governance. He emphasized that the platform will not only improve interactions between citizens and the administration but will also strengthen relationships between companies and employees by simplifying administrative processes and reducing processing times for cases.
Developed in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, the project aims to digitize 55 administrative procedures and services. These digital services leverage modern technologies for data storage and retrieval, optimizing the management of public policies, particularly in the areas of employment and skills development, Sekkouri explained.
He further highlighted the project’s potential to boost Morocco’s economic competitiveness by easing administrative processes, which will enhance productivity and improve company interactions with the government, particularly in human resources management. The platform is expected to provide businesses with reliable access to critical information and facilitate smoother operations.
Sekkouri reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fully implementing this digital initiative as a key driver for improving employability, fostering inclusion and development, and enhancing working conditions across the country.
Halim Hamzaoui, Director of the ILO Office for the Maghreb, noted that the platform represents the culmination of joint efforts between the Ministry and the ILO. He praised Morocco for being one of the first countries to adopt a decent work agenda and to leverage digital transformation to create optimal working conditions. Hamzaoui expressed hope that Morocco’s experience would inspire other nations, and he reaffirmed the ILO’s commitment to providing technical expertise and support for this initiative.
The event was attended by Swedish Ambassador Jörgen Karlsson, along with various notable figures from different sectors.
