Buildings & Logistic Services (BLS) has announced a bold new investment program valued at 2.1 billion dirhams ($200 million) to be implemented over 2025 and 2026. The plan aims to strengthen Morocco’s logistics infrastructure through strategic projects across multiple regions, positioning the country as a premier logistics hub in Africa.

This comes on top of a prior 300 million dirhams investment into the Casa Hub facility in Sidi Hajjaj (Médiouna), inaugurated in December 2024. Spanning 51,500 square meters, the Casa Hub serves as a critical node in Morocco’s logistics chain, designed to improve trade efficiency.

Moncef Belkhayat, CEO of BLS, formalized the company’s commitment in a letter of intent to Ghassan El Mechrafi, Director-General of Morocco’s Agency for Development and Logistics (AMDL). The program consists of several high-impact projects, including:

  • Expanding the Lkhyayta Hub to over 50,000 square meters.
  • Acquiring a 60,000-square-meter platform in Casablanca.
  • Developing a logistics center on a 200,000-square-meter site in Mohammedia, with 15,000 square meters of facilities.
  • Securing two logistics platforms in Tangier totaling 30,000 square meters.
  • Building logistics sites in Kenitra, Meknes, Tetouan, and Marrakech, adding another 30,000 square meters.
  • Constructing an additional 100,000 square meters of multi-flow platforms as part of a national logistics strategy led by AMDL.

These initiatives will double BLS’s logistics capacity from 500,000 square meters to 1 million square meters and increase pallet storage from 250,000 to 500,000. The company’s network will extend across 34 sites in 19 cities, including key regions such as Agadir, Casablanca, Tangier, Meknes, and Guerguerat.

The expansion plan is expected to create 1,000 new jobs in Morocco’s supply chain sector, further reinforcing the nation’s logistics ecosystem. Beyond boosting capacity, this development aligns with long-term goals to attract international investments.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has expressed its support for BLS’s initiative. Cheick-Oumar Sylla, IFC Regional Director for North and East Africa, remarked, “Strong, impact-driven partnerships are crucial for sustainable growth. By supporting industry leaders like BLS, IFC is helping position Morocco as a regional hub for trade and logistics, while also fostering job creation.”

BLS’s investment strategy underscores a broader vision to cement Morocco’s place on the global logistics map. By optimizing the flow of goods throughout the country and enhancing international connectivity, BLS is laying the groundwork for long-term economic development. With this ambitious plan, Morocco seeks to elevate its role as a central player in the global trade network.
