The Board of Directors of the Moroccan Banking Mediation Center (CMMB) recently approved the appointment of Abdelfettah Lazrak as the Center’s new director. Lazrak had been serving as interim director since October 2023, according to a statement from the CMMB.
The CMMB, also known as “Al wassit al banki,” is an associative institution established by the banking community under the supervision of Bank Al-Maghrib. It ensures the independence and impartiality of the Mediator. The Center provides mediation to resolve conventional and institutional conflicts between clients and credit institutions.
Clients, whether individuals or legal entities, can turn to this institution after exhausting internal remedies with their credit establishment without satisfaction and without having initiated judicial or arbitration procedures.
The primary mission of Al wassit al banki is to amicably resolve disputes between banks, financing companies, payment institutions, and microcredit associations, in accordance with Law No. 95-17.
