Small and medium-sized businesses in Morocco can now apply for Accel’Impact, a new programme that aims to help companies grow and create more jobs. Applications are open until 7 August. The programme is run by GIZ Morocco, the German Agency for International Cooperation, with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and RĂ©seau Entreprendre Maroc. It is supported by Invest for Jobs, an initiative of Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Accel’Impact is a 24-month support programme for businesses with strong growth potential. It does not provide funding. Instead, it helps companies improve the way they operate, strengthen their business model and prepare for long-term growth.

Businesses selected for the programme will receive a full business assessment, one-to-one strategic support and mentoring from experienced business leaders. They will also get access to a network of partners and opportunities to grow their business.

The programme includes workshops on growth strategy, human resources, sales, sustainability, finance and business performance. Companies will also receive advice from experts based on their specific needs.

The first group will include 15 companies based in Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Marrakech and Agadir.

Businesses from all sectors can apply, including industry, services, agriculture, technology and culture. To qualify, a company must have been operating for more than three years, employ at least five people, have a proven business model and plan to create at least eight jobs within the next 12 months.

Business owners must also be ready to take part in the programme throughout the two years.

The selection process starts with an online application. Shortlisted companies will then be interviewed before a final committee of business leaders and experts chooses the 15 participants.

Applicants must complete an online form, submit the required documents and upload a video of no more than two minutes explaining their business, their main challenges and what they hope to gain from the programme.
