In a significant step forward for healthcare access in Morocco’s Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, Akdital Group inaugurated the cutting-edge Dakhla International Clinic on Wednesday, aligning the event with the 49th anniversary of Morocco’s iconic Green March. The ceremony brought together notable figures, including Ali Khalil, Wali of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, Akdital’s CEO Rochdi Talib, local officials, and other distinguished guests.
Built with an investment of 269 million dirhams, the Dakhla International Clinic is a multidisciplinary medical facility offering advanced treatments across a wide array of specialties. From oncology to cardiology, this facility is equipped to handle complex medical cases with top-tier technology, alleviating the need for residents to seek treatment in distant cities.
Advanced facilities for comprehensive care
Akdital CEO Rochdi Talib highlighted the clinic’s essential role in bringing healthcare closer to the community, particularly for patients with conditions like cancer who require long-term treatment. “This clinic is a first in the region, giving patients the opportunity to receive specialized care locally, saving them the travel costs and time associated with seeking treatment far from home,” Talib noted.
Open 24/7, the clinic also provides around-the-clock emergency services and offers a range of high-end facilities, including a full radiology center, an emergency and intensive care unit, and a medical analysis laboratory. This array of services is intended to speed up diagnoses and improve patient outcomes.
Vice President Jaouad Zakaria emphasized that this clinic represents the latest in healthcare infrastructure and is part of Akdital’s mission to bolster healthcare capacity in Morocco. The clinic’s extensive radiology center includes MRI and CT scan technology, ultrasound, and mammography capabilities, streamlining diagnostic processes and enabling swift intervention.
Specializations for a comprehensive patient experience
Built to meet stringent international standards in hospital hygiene and patient care, the clinic houses 113 beds and eight state-of-the-art operating rooms, complete with maternity facilities and endoscopy suites. Notably, the facility includes a 28-bed intensive care unit, 11 dedicated resuscitation stations for general and cardiac patients, and seven neonatal incubators. This setup ensures a comprehensive approach to urgent and long-term care.
The Dakhla International Clinic is also home to a specialized cardiology center, equipped with catheterization labs and stress test rooms for advanced cardiovascular and neurovascular treatment. Additionally, a fully integrated oncology center provides a chemotherapy day hospital with 19 treatment chairs and a cutting-edge radiotherapy unit, featuring the latest accelerator technology for safe and effective cancer care.
Digitized and personalized patient care
Designed for excellence in patient care, the clinic features a fully digitalized system for medical data management, offering secure, instant access to patient records. This digital approach enhances treatment efficiency, allowing healthcare providers to deliver personalized, timely care to every patient.
The clinic also includes a modern laboratory equipped for a variety of specialized tests in biochemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunology. Akdital’s commitment to high-quality healthcare extends across its network, with 28 facilities throughout 16 cities in Morocco, providing a total of 3,251 beds and employing over 5,735 professionals.
The group’s vision, which includes expanding health services to underserved regions, culminated in Akdital’s listing on the Casablanca Stock Exchange on December 14, 2022. This milestone marks Akdital as the first healthcare provider to join Morocco’s financial market, opening up new avenues for investment in the sector.
