Africa Morocco Link (AML) has increased its ferry capacity between Morocco and Spain to more than 2.5 million seats as Operation Marhaba 2026 enters its busiest weeks.
The company’s summer plan runs from 5 June to 15 September. It covers routes linking Algeciras, Tarifa and Almería with Tangier Med, Tangier City and Nador. AML has deployed seven ferries and will operate more than 40 sailings a day during peak travel periods.
One of the biggest changes this summer is the launch of the Nador-Almería route. It is the first time in almost 10 years that a Moroccan ferry operator has served the crossing. AML is now the only Moroccan company operating the route.
The route is served by the Stena Europe, the largest ship in AML’s fleet. It can carry about 1,500 passengers and nearly 400 vehicles on each crossing.
Passengers can choose from double and quadruple cabins. The ship also has restaurants, an AML+ lounge, a children’s play area and family seating areas.
The onboard hotel crew is made up entirely of Moroccan staff. Passengers can speak with crew members in Arabic, French, Spanish, English and Tarifit. All food served on board is halal.
AML has also introduced overnight departures from both Nador and Almería to make travel easier for Moroccans living abroad and their families during the summer.
The company worked with port authorities and security services in both countries to help keep crossings safe and reduce waiting times.
Return tickets for foot passengers on the Nador-Almería route start at €154. During the summer, the route can carry up to 500,000 passengers and 120,000 vehicles.
Across its network, AML expects to provide more than 2.5 million passenger seats during Operation Marhaba 2026.
