Moroccan Movie “Aicha” by Zakaria Nouri received a special mention in the category of Best Arab Short Film, during the closing ceremony of the 2nd edition of Amman International Film Festival.

Around fifty movies, including six Moroccan, were competing for prizes in the festival’s main competitions: the Black Iris, Best Arab Feature Narrative Film, Best Arab Feature Documentary Film, and Best Arab Short Film.

Among the 18 competing films for Best Arab Short Film, a Special Mention went to the Moroccan short Movie “Aïcha” by Zakaria Nouri, while the Egyptian movie “The Other Cheek”, directed by Sandro Canaan, won the Black Iris.

In the category of Best Arab Feature Narrative Film, three Moroccan movies are vying, including “Oliver Black” by Taoufiq Baba, “Another Battle” by Mohamed Fekran, and “Contact Street” by Ismail El Iraki.

Speaking on this occasion, the President of the Festival, Princess Rym Ali said that “the Festival pays special attention to the cinema in both its cultural and professional components; it seeks to induce a creative movement.”
