As part of its ambitious “Vision 2028” development plan, Atacadão has opened its latest store in the industrial zone of Kelaât Sraghna, marking the retail chain’s 17th location across Morocco. Following the recent opening in Béni Mellal in August, this new store aligns with Atacadão’s goal to strengthen its presence in Morocco’s regions and provide affordable shopping options.

This new store, built on a spacious 11,500 m² plot with a sales floor of 3,400 m², has required an investment of 95 million dirhams and offers ample parking with 75 spots. Completed in just five months, the project has generated 120 direct jobs and an additional 100 indirect positions, contributing significantly to the local job market. The inauguration was attended by local officials, including the Governor of Kelaât Sraghna province, and Hicham Yacobi, Deputy General Manager of Atacadão.

A commitment to competitive pricing

Atacadão has gained popularity in Morocco through its unique “cash & carry” model, designed to cater to both professionals—like shop owners, café and restaurant operators, and hoteliers—and private customers. This model combines self-service with wholesale and retail options, allowing customers to buy in bulk or as needed, with sliding prices based on quantity.

“Our commitment is to provide the best prices wherever we establish a presence,” explained Hicham Yacobi. “We’re dedicated to offering competitive prices in even the most remote areas, without passing additional logistical costs onto our customers. This approach enhances local purchasing power and contributes to combating inflation, delivering quality products to all regions.”

Innovation in the cash & carry model

Atacadão’s cash & carry model is tailored to support both bulk purchases and daily needs. Customers can choose between standard shopping carts or larger pallets for significant wholesale shopping. Key highlights include:

  • A targeted range of products for local shopkeepers, restaurants, hotels, and private buyers.
  • Both bulk and retail purchase options.
  • Attractive promotions on a broad selection of items.
  • Tiered pricing to incentivize larger purchases.

This pricing strategy means that the residents of Kelaât Sraghna can now access the same low prices as in major urban areas like Casablanca or Rabat-Salé, without facing additional costs due to distance.

Extending the network with accessibility in mind

This latest store launch underscores Atacadão’s mission to bring high-quality products to Morocco’s regions at competitive prices. By broadening its reach beyond major cities, Atacadão is enhancing accessibility, helping to support local purchasing power, and ensuring that communities across the country benefit from its budget-friendly offerings. This store in Kelaât Sraghna is just one step in a larger strategy to provide accessible, affordable shopping experiences for all Moroccans.
