Aya Gold & Silver has found more high-grade silver at its Zgounder mine, with drilling showing up to 3,501 grams of silver per tonne. The latest drilling near the open-pit mine found 783 grams of silver per tonne over 13 metres. Drilling in the central part of the deposit reached 3,501 grams per tonne over 3.5 metres.
The results add to the company’s exploration work at Zgounder. Aya is testing both areas around the open pit and deeper parts of the mine.
The company is also building an exploration tunnel at the 1,825-metre level. The tunnel will help crews reach new areas and test for more silver underground.
Zgounder is Aya’s main producing mine. Silver production reached 1.49 million ounces in the latest quarter, up 43% from a year earlier.
Mining averaged 4,880 tonnes a day across the open-pit and underground operations. The processing plant handled a record 3,889 tonnes a day, with an average silver recovery rate of 91.2%.
Aya expects to produce between 6.2 million and 6.8 million ounces of silver in 2026.
