From October 6th to 10th, the Moroccan Exporters Confederation (ASMEX) led a significant B2B mission to London aimed at showcasing the “Made in Morocco” brand to the UK market. This initiative, carried out in partnership with the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE), brought together various Moroccan companies from sectors such as agri-food, seafood processing, fruits and vegetables, textiles, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals.

The primary goal of this mission was to strengthen economic and commercial ties between Morocco and the United Kingdom. Strategic meetings were held with the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and the West London Chamber of Commerce (WLC), providing Moroccan exporters with valuable insights into the UK market’s unique dynamics.

Frances Fawcett, an international trade specialist at LCCI, expressed her organization’s readiness to support Moroccan businesses in their export endeavors. She highlighted that the association agreement between the two kingdoms facilitates these efforts by offering preferential rates on Moroccan goods, particularly in sectors like textiles, fertilizers, electrical cables, and agriculture.

In a related announcement, David Billingsby, an international trade advisor at WLC, revealed that a UK trade mission will visit Morocco in November. This delegation will include representatives from both large corporations and small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) and will explore business opportunities in Casablanca and Dakhla. Billingsby emphasized that one company in search of a distributor aims to not only tap into the Moroccan market but also to expand across North Africa, underscoring Morocco’s role as a gateway to broader regional markets.

ASMEX’s mission also involved industrial site visits, tours of logistics hubs, dozens of B2B meetings, and a workshop designed to promote Moroccan brands in the UK market. These initiatives reflect Morocco’s commitment to fostering win-win partnerships based on the commercial and industrial synergies between the two nations.

As the mission draws to a close, it paves the way for future fruitful collaborations, reinforcing the bonds between Morocco and the UK in an ever-evolving global economic landscape.
