BANK OF AFRICA and Mastercard recently reaffirmed their shared commitment to supporting small businesses in Morocco during the “Elevate Your Business” event held in Casablanca. Centered around the theme “Building a Business in a Changing Morocco,” the gathering marked the conclusion of the inaugural “Elevator Pitch” program—a joint initiative aimed at spotlighting and nurturing the country’s most promising entrepreneurial talent.
Ten startup projects were selected to benefit from visibility, mentorship, and business support through the program, culminating in awards for three standout ventures, along with a special audience favorite prize. But beyond the competition itself, the event served as a broader platform to explore Morocco’s shifting economic landscape and the growing potential it holds for small enterprises.
Expert panelists emphasized the importance of public initiatives like Tamwilcom in helping entrepreneurs gain access to financing, while highlighting BANK OF AFRICA’s strategic backing for small businesses across the country. Mastercard focused its message on the critical role digital tools now play in helping these businesses thrive over the long term.
Among the key moments of the event was an inspiring keynote by Alice Lhabouz, founder of Trecento Asset Management. She offered valuable insight into the importance of leadership, mentorship, and professional networking, drawing from her own experience in the investment world.
The event also served as the launchpad for two new business solutions tailored specifically to the needs of Moroccan professionals. First, a new Business card equipped with Mastercard’s Easy Savings platform offers over 100 targeted discounts for small businesses, along with expanded insurance protections. Second, the debut of HSABATI PRO, a digital management tool designed to streamline daily operations for entrepreneurs, promises to make running a small business more efficient and less time-consuming.
