Bank of Africa has officially renewed the certification of its anti-corruption management system, now fully aligned with the 2025 version of the ISO 37001 standard. This achievement underscores the bank’s continued commitment to integrity and transparency at every level of its operations, a core value under the leadership of Chairman Othman Benjelloun.
The updated version of the international standard introduces stricter requirements for organizations looking to combat corruption effectively. It calls for deeper executive-level involvement in compliance oversight, clearer integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria, and stronger mechanisms to anticipate regulatory changes. The new framework also places heightened emphasis on managing conflicts of interest and identifying corruption risks, particularly in banking operations.
In today’s financial landscape, where transparency and regulatory compliance are critical to public trust, this certification positions Bank of Africa among institutions operating at the highest global standards. It reflects not just a procedural update, but a deeper institutional commitment to ethical banking practices.
The certification process was conducted by EuroCompliance, an independent audit body accredited by Cofrac. The auditors highlighted the maturity and effectiveness of the bank’s compliance framework, noting that anti-corruption practices are deeply embedded in the company’s culture. They praised the governance structure’s clarity, the bank’s firm zero-tolerance stance on corruption, the robustness of its prevention and whistleblowing tools, and the consistency of its training and awareness programs. Special mention was made of how ESG principles are integrated directly into the bank’s internal processes.
This renewal marks more than just regulatory compliance—it represents a collective effort to build and maintain an ethical, secure, and trustworthy banking environment. For Bank of Africa, fighting corruption isn’t a PR slogan—it’s a daily operational standard aimed at fostering long-term, trust-based relationships in Morocco and beyond.
