Morocco will host a new industry event called Industrial Transformation Africa from 29 September to 1 October. The goal is to put Africa at the heart of the global manufacturing shift.
The event is organised by Hannover Fairs MENA, part of Germany’s Deutsche Messe AG. Organisers say the exhibition will turn Casablanca into a hub for new technology and international business.
The exhibition will focus on robotics, automation, artificial intelligence, digital factories, smart logistics, supply chains, energy systems, and industrial motion technology.
Companies already confirmed include OCP Maintenance Solutions, IFM Electronic, and Igus.
Organisers say the project is meant to run all year, not just during the event. It will include a big exhibition, a training centre called the Smart Factory Academy Casablanca, and a leadership forum called the Industrial Edge Summit Africa.
Why Morocco was chosen
The launch is part of a plan by Deutsche Messe to expand its Hannover Messe brand into Africa.
The event fits with Morocco’s Digital Morocco 2030 strategy, which aims to modernise industry and speed up digital transformation. Officials say hosting the event strengthens Morocco’s role as a bridge between Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Morocco already has strong industrial sectors, especially automotive and aerospace.
In 2025, French aerospace company Safran announced a 3.4bn dirham investment to assemble LEAP aircraft engines in Morocco. This made the country the second-largest engine assembly site after France.
Morocco also has access to more than one billion consumers through trade agreements and major logistics infrastructure such as Tanger Med Port.
Global industry trends
The event comes as factories move towards “physical AI”, using advanced sensors and cameras so robots can safely work with humans in risky environments.
European manufacturers are also looking at North Africa for greener factories, helped by Morocco’s growing renewable energy sector.
A separate NextGen Manufacturing Summit will take place during the event, focusing on policies and Industry 4.0 adoption across Africa.
