Morocco saw the biggest rise in internet speed in the Middle East and Africa in 2025, according to Ookla’s Speedtest Global Index, after switching on 5G late in the year. The country jumped 22 places in the global mobile internet ranking to reach 39th by December. This made Morocco the top country in North Africa for mobile internet, ahead of Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria.
