“Coco Park” inaugurated in Meknès, Morocco’s largest amusement park

On Wednesday, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, officially inaugurated Coco Park in Meknès, the largest amusement park in Morocco, built with an investment of 200 million dirhams.

This project, expected to create over 480 direct and indirect jobs, significantly enhances the entertainment offerings in the Fès-Meknès region. It also aligns with the tourism roadmap for the area, emphasizing enriched tourist experiences, as outlined in the contract signed on January 30, 2024.

During the inauguration, Minister Ammor described the park as “a true catalyst for regional economic development,” highlighting its importance in attracting families and leisure enthusiasts, which in turn increases average stay durations.

Accompanied by Abdelghani Sabbar, Governor of Meknès Prefecture; Abdelouahed El Ansari, President of the Fès-Meknès Regional Council; and Imad Barrakad, Director General of the Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development (SMIT), Ammor emphasized the government’s strong support for investments in entertainment through dedicated programs like “Go Siyaha,” “Moukawala Siyahia,” and the new investment charter.

Hicham Meskini, the park’s administrator, stated that “this long-term project marks a new era, positioning Morocco in the leisure and entertainment sector.” He added that the park supports the region’s 2030 tourism development strategy and encourages other developers to explore this field.

Spanning over 10 hectares with an Amazonian theme, Coco Park offers a unique immersive experience with more than 50 attractions for all ages. Highlights include arcade games, thrilling rides, a rafting simulator, a 5D cinema, and a 300-meter zipline.

Set to officially open on July 20, Coco Park will also feature animal shows, numerous animations, and supervised water games, all within a jungle setting and pre-Columbian architecture for an exotic ambiance.

The park, which can accommodate up to 7,000 visitors per day, also boasts themed restaurants and souvenir shops, enhancing the visitor experience.

Easily accessible from the highway, Coco Park aims to become a premier leisure destination in Morocco and across North Africa.

The regional implementation contract for the Fès-Meknès tourism roadmap includes around fifteen major projects, featuring entertainment initiatives, accommodation projects, and a dedicated marketing and aviation plan for the region.
