The Crédit Agricole Group of Morocco (GCAM) and Centrale Danone have announced the launch of the first training days focused on financial education for farmers and their families. This initiative stems from a partnership agreement signed between the two entities in 2024.

Developed by the Crédit Agricole du Maroc Research and Study Center (CERCAM), the program aims to enhance the financial and technical skills of local producers. Training sessions will begin in 2025 and will be held during events dedicated to producers, including farmers affiliated with the “Hlib Bladi” community. This program, spearheaded by Centrale Danone, supports 10,000 small-scale dairy farmers across Morocco.

The partnership is built on two key strategic pillars: The first pillar focuses on basic financial education, equipping farmers and their families with essential financial management skills to promote economic autonomy and resilience. The second pillar involves training in modern dairy farming management tools to help farmers improve productivity and ensure the sustainability of their operations through advanced and tailored practices.

Ali Benmokhtar, Central Director of the Crédit Agricole du Maroc Research and Study Center, highlighted the importance of the initiative, stating: “This partnership is a significant step forward in strengthening the financial inclusion of farmers in rural areas. These training programs directly contribute to improving their quality of life while ensuring the long-term sustainability of their activities.”

Anass El Ayachi, Director of Dairy Upstream Operations at Centrale Danone, emphasized the shared commitment, stating: “We are dedicated to supporting farmers and their families by enhancing their technical and financial capabilities. These initiatives reflect our ambition to actively contribute to the sustainable and inclusive development of Morocco’s agricultural sector.”

This partnership between Crédit Agricole du Maroc and Centrale Danone demonstrates their shared commitment to fostering economic empowerment and sustainable growth in the rural agricultural sector. The program is poised to make a lasting impact on small-scale farmers by providing them with the tools and skills they need to thrive.
