Diebold Nixdorf has appointed Imad El Aouni as the new General Manager of its Moroccan branch. In his new role, El Aouni will also retain his responsibilities as Commercial Director for North, West, and Central Africa, further solidifying the company’s presence in these rapidly growing markets.
With over two decades of experience in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector, El Aouni has held key technical and commercial positions at major multinational companies, including Hewlett Packard France and Atos Origin. In 2005, he joined Orange Labs, where he led an ambitious R&D program focused on self-care solutions for France Telecom. His leadership significantly contributed to the success of Orange Business Services’ “Customer Care” division across the Middle East and Africa.
In 2012, after a highly successful career in France, El Aouni returned to Morocco with a mission to actively support the country’s digital economy. He led the launch of the Maroc Numeric Cluster, a joint initiative with the Moroccan government aimed at positioning ICT as a key driver of economic growth. Under his guidance, the cluster fostered a dynamic ecosystem, strengthening collaboration between tech companies and institutional players.
“It is a privilege to lead Diebold Nixdorf Morocco, a company with a rich legacy in the region and a pivotal role in the digital transformation of the banking sector. For decades, Diebold Nixdorf has been a trusted partner to its clients, providing innovative solutions tailored to their needs. My goal is to build on this strong foundation, continuously listening to our clients and delivering customized solutions that address their unique challenges. We will support them throughout their digital transformation journey, ensuring advanced technologies and personalized support. Innovation, combined with a customer-centric approach, will remain at the heart of everything we do,” said Imad El Aouni.
An engineer by training, El Aouni also holds an MBA from Sorbonne Business School. His extensive experience and innovation-driven leadership make him the ideal person to guide Diebold Nixdorf Morocco into its next chapter of growth and success.
