Ayoub El Kaabi is among the world’s top international goalscorers, according to the International Federation of Football History and Statistics rankings.
The rankings only count goals scored for senior national teams and in international club competitions. They do not include domestic league goals. El Kaabi has regularly featured in the top 10, and in 2024 he spent several months at the top of the list.
His strong form was driven mainly by his performances in the 2023–24 season in the UEFA Europa Conference League. He finished as the competition’s leading scorer with 11 goals, including a hat-trick in the semi-final and the winning goal in the final. He became the first Moroccan player to score in a major European final.
He also impressed at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where he scored two overhead kicks during the group stage. The tournament was held in Morocco, and his goals made him one of the standout players.
El Kaabi’s rise has put him alongside some of the game’s biggest names, including Erling Haaland, Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé, who have often led the international scoring charts.
In 2025, Haaland finished first in the rankings.
