To mark the 50th anniversary of Morocco’s historic Green March, the EPIK Leaders association is launching a bold new initiative that blends national remembrance with environmental consciousness. From November 3 to 8, the “Green March 2.0” will travel the length of the country—from Tangier to Laayoune—passing through Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, and Agadir along the way. But this is no ordinary commemorative journey; it’s a statement of purpose, featuring a caravan of hybrid vehicles designed to symbolize a dual commitment: patriotism and sustainability.
This cross-country effort does more than retrace a historical path—it places Morocco’s youth at the center of a modern narrative. Drawing on the unifying spirit of 1975, EPIK Leaders is turning remembrance into a call to action. At each stop, themed talk shows will bring together experts, entrepreneurs, and young changemakers to reflect on Morocco’s transformation over the past five decades and to confront the challenges of tomorrow, from innovation and urban sustainability to inclusive leadership.
The journey kicks off in Tangier with a focus on roots and forward-looking vision, setting the tone for what follows. By choosing hybrid vehicles as their mode of transport, the organizers are reinforcing a message of climate-conscious progress—linking generations around a shared goal: making the lessons of the past a foundation for a greener future.
Founded in January 2025 by Dr. Nizar Chaari and Mahmoud Cherkaoui Salhi, EPIK Leaders has quickly grown into a major pan-African platform for youth empowerment and civic engagement. Now active in 15 African countries, the organization connects more than 50,000 members across 550 local clubs, all focused on nurturing emerging talent. Its mission is clear: equip Africa’s young leaders with the tools and mindset needed to build a united, forward-thinking continent.
The Green March 2.0 aims to do exactly that—bridge history and progress, memory and innovation—embodying a Morocco that is not only looking back with pride but stepping boldly into the future.
