From SoGé to nabD: Saham Bank’s bold digital reinvention

Saham Bank has officially turned the page on its former identity as SoGé and launched nabD, a fully digital banking platform tailored to the habits and expectations of today’s hyper-connected generation. With this bold shift, the bank enters a new chapter in its modernization strategy, focused on delivering a seamless, mobile-first experience that integrates naturally into the everyday lives of its users.

But this is far more than just a rebrand. nabD represents a strategic repositioning that puts young, tech-savvy customers at the heart of its vision. The new offering is built around fast, accessible, and highly personalized services—from opening an account online and receiving a debit card at home, to real-time payments and smart budgeting tools with built-in coaching features. Every aspect has been designed to match the pace and expectations of modern life.

The app also gives users real-time control over their finances, including the ability to make foreign currency payments remotely. One standout feature is its digital savings tool, also named nabD, a first-of-its-kind solution in Morocco designed to help users set money aside with ease.

Recognizing the importance of financial literacy from an early age, nabD also includes a dedicated feature for teens aged 12 to 17. With free account setup (requiring parental consent), a youth-friendly debit card, and secure monitoring tools, it offers a safe and structured way for young people to begin managing money. Parents, meanwhile, can track and guide their child’s financial journey with full transparency.

The new branding centers around the name nabD, which means “pulse” in Arabic—a nod to the bank’s mission to move in rhythm with each individual customer, rather than forcing clients to adapt to rigid systems. It’s a philosophy championed by SAHAM Group, led by Chairman Moulay Hafid Elalamy, and captured in Saham Bank’s new tagline: “Your Lifestyle Banking.” This promise now influences every element of the product, from its user interface to the overall client experience.

Built on the strong foundation of Saham Bank, nabD aims to make banking more inclusive and accessible, while driving forward a broader digital transformation. It’s not just a new product—it’s a new way to bank.
