The Fairmont Taghazout Bay has expanded its lineup of high-end leisure offerings with the debut of Padel Arena, a sleek, open-air sports venue featuring two state-of-the-art padel courts. More than just a place to play, the new facility is designed as a social hub that welcomes everyone—from beginners to seasoned players—set against a backdrop that blends luxury beach vibes with an active lifestyle.
To launch the space in style, the resort hosted an exhibition match that brought together top-tier talent from both Morocco and Spain. Moroccan padel standouts Reda El Amrani and Khalil Outaleb faced off against Spanish pros Adria Mercadal and Jesus Ruiz—all ranked among the top 100 players worldwide. The following day saw a friendly mixed doubles game that reshuffled the teams, underlining the arena’s mission to promote camaraderie and connection through sport. The festive opening weekend also included coaching sessions, social matches, a prize raffle, and an upbeat, community-focused atmosphere.
The entire facility has been developed in partnership with Bullpadel Maroc, which not only outfitted the courts but also opened its first official store in Morocco on-site. The Spanish brand, known for its high-performance equipment and sleek designs, is distributed locally by Mercure International of Morocco under its Be Sport label—solidifying the arena’s commitment to quality gear and expert support.
All bookings are handled through Sportym, a Moroccan digital platform specializing in sports reservations. This tech integration will make it easy to organize regular tournaments, training camps, and themed events that invite local players and enthusiasts to take part in the growing padel community.
Leading the sporting program is Yassine Touhami, a former golf champion from Agadir who has successfully transitioned into padel. Throughout the year, he offers private coaching and intensive sessions designed to be both high-level and accessible, emphasizing skill development in a welcoming environment.
Beyond the courts, Padel Arena also serves as a laid-back retreat. A matcha bar and light menu encourage players and guests to linger and unwind after a game, extending the experience beyond sport. This latest addition rounds out the Fairmont Taghazout Bay’s already impressive roster of wellness and recreation amenities, which include a spa, yoga studio, surf club, football field, and more—cementing its status as a premier destination for luxury and active living.
