Bank of Africa (BOA) has just rolled out an exciting new service in Morocco: Google Pay. Starting today, BOA customers can seamlessly make contactless payments by linking their credit or debit cards to Google Wallet on their Android and WearOS devices. This move brings a fresh, streamlined approach to everyday transactions, offering both convenience and enhanced security to Moroccan users.
The addition of Google Pay doesn’t just stop at payments. BOA customers can now store various essential documents directly in their Google Wallet. This includes loyalty cards, boarding passes, and event tickets—transforming the wallet into a comprehensive digital hub. With all these resources stored on one platform, managing daily transactions and personal documents has never been easier.
Security is central to this new digital feature. Each Google Pay transaction uses “tokenization,” which ensures that a unique virtual card number and a dynamic security code protect each payment. This added layer of security safeguards against fraud and data theft, making it a smart choice for those looking to make secure transactions. Should a device be lost or stolen, users can easily lock, secure, or erase their data remotely through Google’s “Find My Device” service.
Jenny Cheng, Vice President and General Manager of Google Wallet, highlighted that Google Pay offers a reliable and swift payment solution for users in over 70 countries. With the BOA partnership, Moroccan users can now enjoy a similar experience, paying directly from their Android devices with just a tap.
To get started, BOA customers simply need to download Google Wallet from the Google Play Store, register their BOA card, and enjoy the simplicity of secure mobile payments right at their fingertips.
