From July 3 to 6, the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam course in Rabat will host the fourth leg of the 2025 International Series, part of the prestigious Asian Tour calendar. Anticipation is high as the event promises to bring together several high-profile names from the LIV Golf circuit, along with many of the sport’s rising stars.
All eyes will be on New Zealander Ben Campbell, a standout figure in the RangeGoats GC team. His dramatic win last year, sealed in a nail-biting finish against John Catlin, was one of the highlights of the season. The two will cross paths again in Morocco, with Catlin—an Asian Tour veteran boasting six titles—eager to turn the tables after narrowly missing out on victory during the closing holes in 2024.
Also expected in Rabat are Charl Schwartzel, the 2011 Masters champion currently representing Stinger GC, and Peter Uihlein, a teammate of Campbell’s who notched wins on the International Series last year in both London and Doha. Andy Ogletree, the 2019 U.S. Amateur champion and top overall performer in the 2023 International Series, is another confirmed participant. He’ll be joined by Jazz Janewattananond, who captured the title when the Moroccan edition debuted in 2022.
For Campbell, now 33, returning to Morocco is about more than competition—it’s personal. His breakthrough victory in Rabat last year marked a pivotal moment, propelling him into the LIV Golf spotlight after a string of standout performances. That success paved the way for his selection by two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson to join the RangeGoats, a move that capped off an impressive season.
Since then, Campbell has continued to build his résumé. With two International Series wins under his belt, he finished third in last year’s overall standings and runner-up in the Asian Tour Order of Merit. His rookie LIV Golf season is already showing promise—he secured a third-place finish in Singapore and currently sits 25th in the overall rankings.
According to Rahul Singh, Director of the International Series, the Moroccan event has quickly become a key date on the tour. He praised both the course and the warm reception from local organizers, noting that the tournament’s blend of global stars and emerging talent makes it increasingly popular with fans and players alike.
Now in its eighth stop on the Asian Tour calendar and firmly embedded within the International Series, the Rabat event plays a crucial role in shaping the race for LIV Golf League qualification. The top-ranked player at the end of the season will earn a direct spot in the 2026 LIV Golf League, while additional entries will be determined through a season-ending promotion tournament.
So far, the 2025 season has included events in India, Macau, and Japan. With the action now shifting to Morocco, the stakes are rising for those aiming to break into golf’s elite.
