Ichem Zaher is on the brink of making history by becoming the first Moroccan to take on the extraordinary challenge of the Enduroman—a solo extreme triathlon linking London and Paris.
Currently based in Dakar for his commercial role, Zaher is set to write a new chapter in Morocco’s sports history by attempting to conquer this formidable event. Scheduled between August 19 and 28, the Enduroman triathlon involves a grueling 140-kilometer run, a swim across the English Channel spanning over 40 kilometers, and a 300-kilometer bike ride to the French capital.
Fueled by audacity, perseverance, and unyielding determination, Zaher has rigorously prepared for this unique adventure, which combines some of the most challenging and demanding trials in the world of sports.
In addition to the sporting aspect, Zaher is undertaking this challenge for a noble cause: raising funds for heart surgery to save Senegalese children suffering from congenital heart defects.
Zaher is no stranger to endurance sports, having participated in numerous events, including the Marathon des Sables three times (twice in Morocco and once in Peru) and a dozen Ironman races, which consist of a 3.8-kilometer swim, 180.2-kilometer bike ride, and a 42.195-kilometer marathon. “The Enduroman represents the pinnacle of endurance and perseverance for me,” he concluded.
The Enduroman, also known as the “Arch to Arc,” is an extreme triathlon that begins at Marble Arch in London and ends at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. This multi-day event starts with an ultra-distance run, followed by an open-water swim across the English Channel, and finishes with a road cycling segment.
