Hicham Zouanat, President of the Social Commission of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), has been unanimously re-elected as a full member of the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) Governing Body. The re-election took place on Thursday, June 13, 2024, in Geneva.
Zouanat’s re-election is a testament to his valuable contributions during his first term, addressing various social and economic issues such as social dialogue, platform economies, and the informal economy. His efforts have earned the continued trust and confidence of ILO members, according to a statement from CGEM.
The CGEM statement also highlights that Zouanat made history in 2023 by becoming the first Moroccan to hold a full member position on the ILO Governing Body. Additionally, he serves as the Vice President for Africa within the International Organisation of Employers (IOE).
