Jet Contractors has won the contract to build the train station for the Grand Hassan II Stadium, the Moroccan National Railways Office (ONCF) said. The deal is worth about 415.5 million dirhams, not including taxes.
The company got the contract by submitting the lowest bid that met all the technical requirements. This is the first big project under a plan started in October 2025 to build 24 new stations and several maintenance centres.
The new station will serve the 115,000-seat stadium and allow fans to travel from Casablanca and Rabat in 15 to 20 minutes using Al Boraq high-speed trains and the Regional Express Railway (RER). It is expected to handle around 12 million passengers a year, and construction will take two years.
The stadium itself cost around 5 billion dirhams ($500 million) and has a tent-style roof inspired by Moroccan traditional gatherings. Morocco hopes the stadium will host the 2030 FIFA World Cup Final.
The ONCF’s 2025–2030 Railway Plan will expand high-speed services from Kénitra to Marrakech and connect 43 cities by 2040, up from 23 today, covering most of the population.
Officials said the station’s location in Benslimane was chosen to connect Casablanca and Rabat quickly. The government is also investing 1.3 billion dirhams in roads and highways to make the area around the stadium easier to reach.
The project is part of Morocco’s $10 billion push to upgrade its rail network.
