This summer, the winds of K-pop will sweep through Rabat. On June 24, 2025, the globally acclaimed South Korean girl group AESPA will light up the OLM Souissi stage as part of the 20th edition of the Mawazine – Rhythms of the World Festival. This landmark performance marks AESPA’s first-ever concert in Morocco and their only appearance on the African continent, making it a major highlight in this year’s lineup.

Formed under the powerhouse label SM Entertainment, the quartet — Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning — has redefined the landscape of modern pop. Blending cutting-edge technology, digital avatars, and metaverse storytelling, aespa doesn’t just perform music — they create an entire world. Their sound, as catchy as it is immersive, merges powerful hooks with futuristic visuals in a genre-bending experience.

Since their explosive debut with Black Mamba in 2020, aespa has taken the world by storm. With global hits like Next Level, Savage, Spicy, and Drama, and headline appearances at top-tier events such as Coachella, Tokyo Dome, and the Governors Ball, the group has earned both commercial success and critical acclaim. Their album Armageddon achieved a coveted Perfect All Kill and was named Album of the Year at the MelOn Music Awards.

In October 2024, they released Whiplash, an EP that further cemented their place in the global pop elite. Their victory at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music Awards as “Group of the Year” and their high-profile SYNK: PARALLEL LINE world tour — spanning from Los Angeles to Amsterdam — showcased their power to cross borders and redefine the live concert experience.

At Mawazine, aespa is expected to deliver a genre-defying performance that merges high-tech visuals with meticulously choreographed dance routines. From immersive stage designs to mind-bending projections, their show promises a full-sensory journey — where music meets technology in dazzling harmony.
