Judicial police in the city of Kenitra managed, Saturday, on the basis of accurate information provided by the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), to foil an attempt of international drug trafficking of one ton and 275 kg of chira and to arrest two individuals, including a minor aged 17, for their alleged links with a criminal network active in the international trafficking of drugs.

The arrest of the two suspects took place at the toll station on the highway in the vicinity of Kenitra, directly after their arrival aboard a commercial vehicle, said a statement by the national police (DGSN), adding that search operations have resulted in the seizure aboard the vehicle of 39 packages of chira with an overall weight of one ton and 275 kg.

The main suspect was held in custody, while the minor suspect was placed under judicial supervision to complete the investigation conducted under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office to determine the possible ramifications of this criminal activity and shed light on all the criminal acts of the two suspects, concluded the statement.
