At a meeting chaired by Saïd Elhadi, the Board of Directors of LafargeHolcim Maroc (LHM) announced the appointment of Khalid Samaka as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2025. This leadership change marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Morocco’s leading cement manufacturer.

Khalid Samaka will succeed José Antonio Primo, who is retiring after a remarkable career. During his tenure, Primo played a pivotal role in elevating LHM’s operations, turning its facilities into some of the most efficient in the world while advancing decarbonization efforts. The Board acknowledged his dedication and expressed gratitude for his transformative leadership, which has left a lasting legacy.

Khalid Samaka brings with him an impressive 28 years of experience in the cement industry, all within the Holcim Group. A graduate of the prestigious École Centrale de Paris and holder of an MBA from Paris Dauphine, Samaka has held key operational and strategic roles across Morocco and five other countries.

His expertise spans areas such as development, construction, operations, and support functions, making him a well-rounded leader with a global perspective. Most recently, Samaka served as the General Manager of Holcim Azerbaijan, where he successfully managed the company’s activities since 2021.

Samaka’s appointment signals LafargeHolcim Maroc’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. Under his leadership, the company aims to further solidify its position as an industry leader while focusing on key strategic goals, including environmental sustainability and operational efficiency.
