LASOBIO has opened a new factory in Casablanca to make food supplements, cosmetics and functional drinks. The company invested 100m dirhams ($10m) in the 2,500 sq m facility in the Lissasfa 2 industrial zone. It can produce up to 3 million units for each of seven product types, giving it a potential capacity of 21 million units a year.

LASOBIO is part of the Promamec group, which has more than 45 years of experience in healthcare and medical equipment.

The new factory is designed to control production from raw materials to finished products. It includes systems to track ingredients and equipment designed to meet pharmaceutical standards.

The company will also let other businesses use the factory to make their own supplements, cosmetics and drinks.

A new extraction process will allow LASOBIO to process Moroccan medicinal plants locally. The factory can also produce ingredients in product forms that were not previously made locally, including functional drinks and specialised serums.

“Producing in Morocco requires zero compromise on quality standards. Our ambition is to demonstrate that a Moroccan industrial company can reach standards comparable to major international players while building an offering tailored to the needs of the Moroccan consumer,” said Ismail Guezzar, LASOBIO’s business development director.

The factory will initially employ about 60 people. LASOBIO expects the number to rise to more than 150 direct jobs and nearly 500 indirect jobs by 2030.

The company is also preparing to sell more products abroad.

Its German brand, H3R LAB, is expected to reach more than 1,000 retail outlets in Germany from January 2027. LASOBIO also plans to start exports to the UK in 2027.

The company is working with international businesses in supplements, cosmetics and functional drinks, including British brand Goodrays.

“Well-being is not a privilege, it is a right. This unit allows us to give concrete industrial reality to this conviction by placing quality, trust, and usefulness to the consumer at the very heart of our approach,” said Hatim El Kabbaj, LASOBIO’s managing director.

LASOBIO says it eventually wants to expand into pharmaceuticals and develop more health products.
