Maroc Telecom continues its upward trajectory, solidifying its dominance in the African telecommunications market. By the end of 2024, the group’s total customer base reached an impressive 79.3 million, marking a 4.5% increase over the past year. This growth is largely driven by the outstanding performance of its Moov Africa subsidiaries, which saw an 8.1% surge in users.

In Morocco, Maroc Telecom has reinforced its position, particularly in the mobile sector, where it now serves 19.1 million customers. This expansion is fueled by the postpaid segment’s strong performance, which grew by 5%, reflecting the appeal of the company’s diverse and competitive service offerings.

Beyond Morocco, Moov Africa’s footprint continues to expand across ten African markets, boasting 56.3 million mobile users. Some of the most dynamic markets include Burkina Faso (12 million customers) and Côte d’Ivoire (11.9 million customers), both showing solid subscriber bases. Meanwhile, Mali (8.2 million customers) and Chad (6.9 million customers) are further reinforcing their presence on the continent.

While the fixed-line segment in Morocco has experienced a 7.4% decline, settling at 1.7 million lines, demand for high-speed internet remains robust. The number of broadband subscribers has reached 1.5 million, with fiber-optic (FTTH) connections soaring by 29%, underscoring the accelerating digital transformation and increasing demand for ultra-fast connectivity.

Internationally, Maroc Telecom’s fixed-line services serve 407,000 customers, with Mali (256,000 subscribers) and Burkina Faso (69,000 subscribers) leading the way. Meanwhile, the fixed broadband segment has grown to 303,000 customers, further cementing the group’s influence in the region.

As the telecom giant continues to expand its reach, its focus on mobile growth, fiber-optic deployment, and digital transformation positions it as a key player in Africa’s telecommunications revolution. With strong momentum across multiple markets, Maroc Telecom is set to shape the future of connectivity on the continent.
