Marrakech hosts INTERPOL summit amid rising global security challenges

Marrakech is set to host one of the most significant international security gatherings of the year. From November 24 to 27, the city will welcome delegates from 196 countries for the 93rd General Assembly of INTERPOL, the global organization for police cooperation.

The official opening ceremony is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on November 24. Over the course of four days, top security officials, police chiefs, and international policymakers will come together to assess the global fight against transnational crime. While the meetings themselves will be held behind closed doors—as is customary for such high-level events—informal bilateral discussions are expected to take place alongside the official sessions. A press conference is also in the works, with more details expected soon.

This summit marks another milestone in Morocco’s ongoing efforts to position itself as a central player in global security affairs. By hosting this major event, the country reinforces its reputation as a trusted partner within the international law enforcement community. Known for its experience with large-scale international events, Marrakech will provide the backdrop for strategic discussions on cross-border threats and shared security priorities.
