A total of 1,279 new cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) infection and 708 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco in the last 24 hours, the ministry of Health said Wednesday.
The number of primary vaccinated people is 10,266,670, while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) stands at 9,204,753, said the ministry in its daily report on the situation of Covid-19.
The new cases bring to 537,253 the total number of infections since the first case was reported in Morocco in March 2020. The number of people who have recovered has risen to 521,671, representing a recovery rate of 97.1%.
The new cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (553), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (180), Souss-Massa (166), Marrakech-Safi (162), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (79), Fez-Meknes (56), the Eastern region (18), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (15), Draa-Tafilalet (13), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (13), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (13) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (11).
As for the total number of deaths, it rose to 9,341 with 5 new fatalities recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (01), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (02), Souss-Massa (01) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (01).
The number of active cases has reached 6,241 including 290 in a critical or severe condition.
