Kamal Laâbi, better known as Chef Kimo, has died. Born in Fès, he was known for his passion for authentic Moroccan cuisine and for sharing it widely on social media.
Chef Kimo drew inspiration from his roots and family traditions. His grandfather, Haj Abdelkrim Raïs, a guardian of Arabo-Andalusian music, passed on a deep love of Moroccan culture. Kimo carried this forward not only in cooking but also with his music group, Frères Laâbi.
In Rabat, his restaurant, Chez Kimo, reflected his two passions: food and music. He also focused on teaching children about Moroccan cuisine through fun and friendly workshops.
