Moroccan Film 'Casablanca Beats' to be Screened in Red Sea International Film Festival

The Red Sea International Film Festival on Tuesday announced the first selection of screenings that will take place during its inaugural session, including Moroccan filmmaker Nabil Ayouch’s latest opus “Casablanca Beats”.

This film had already been screened in Cannes Film Festival’s official competition, and has also been shortlisted to represent Morocco at the next edition of the Oscars.

This Moroccan film delves into the lives of youngsters obsessed with hip-hop through the story of a group of teenagers in the Sidi Moumen neighborhood of Casablanca; a suburb that has been a source of inspiration for Ayouch in his previous works, including “Ali Zaoua” in 1999 and “Horses of God” in 2012.

The festival, to be held from December 6 to 15, is expected to present a selection of the best Arab and world creations in the field of cinema. This is to be accompanied by red carpet exhibitions, seminars, workshops and Red Sea market programs.
