The ports managed by the National Ports Agency (ANP) experienced a significant increase in activity during the first half of 2024, with total traffic exceeding 48 million tonnes (MT), an 18% rise compared to the same period in the previous year.
In the second quarter of 2024 alone, port traffic surged by 24.6%, reaching 26 million tonnes, according to a statement from the ANP published on the Moroccan Capital Market Authority (AMMC) website.
The agency’s cumulative revenue also saw substantial growth, increasing by 17.1% to nearly 1.4 billion dirhams (MMDH) by the end of June 2024, and by 13.4% to 730 million dirhams (MDH) in the second quarter of 2024.
Similarly, the consolidated revenue rose by 16.5% to 1.5 billion dirhams (MMDH) for the first half of 2024, and by 13.1% to 786 million dirhams (MDH) in the second quarter.
As for investments, the ANP allocated 176 million dirhams (MDH) by the end of June 2024, with 129 million dirhams (MDH) invested during the second quarter of the year.
