A group of Moroccan students is spending the week in China as part of Huawei’s “Seeds for the Future” program, an initiative backed by Huawei Morocco in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation. The program, running from August 18 to 23, offers these students a unique opportunity to dive into the heart of China’s booming tech ecosystem.
Drawn from universities across Morocco, the participants are exploring the innovation hubs of Dongguan and Shenzhen—cities recognized globally for their leadership in digital technology. Their itinerary blends hands-on workshops with academic sessions and exclusive tours of Huawei’s Innovation Center, where they’re getting a firsthand look at the company’s latest technological breakthroughs.
This year’s edition brings together young talents from multiple countries, including Japan and the Netherlands, creating a vibrant international environment where participants can share ideas and build global networks. The goal goes beyond education—it’s about fostering connections among the next generation of digital pioneers.
Another segment of the program begins August 23 and focuses specifically on Moroccan PhD students. These researchers will receive advanced training in cloud computing and digital infrastructure, while also gaining access to Huawei’s cutting-edge research facilities in Shenzhen. They’ll engage directly with global experts, giving them both technical insights and strategic perspectives.
According to Jason Chen, Vice President of Huawei Morocco, the initiative is part of a broader effort to shape future digital leaders and cement Morocco’s position in the global innovation landscape. For both students and researchers, the program is designed not only to sharpen technical expertise but also to deepen understanding of the broader challenges and opportunities of the digital era.
Ultimately, this immersive experience reflects a shared commitment between Huawei and Moroccan institutions to nurture local talent and support the country’s ambitions in building a strong, forward-looking digital economy.
