On the sidelines of GITEX Africa Morocco, the Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health (FM6SS) and the French public interest group MipihSIB announced, on Monday in Marrakech, a strategic partnership to accelerate the digital transformation of Morocco’s healthcare system.

This initiative is part of the country’s broader strategy to modernize healthcare infrastructure and position digital technology as a lever for performance, inclusion, and technological sovereignty.

The two partners aim to develop tailored digital health solutions that address Morocco’s specific needs — including secure health data management, enhanced patient journeys, and modernized hospital operations.

Two pilot institutions have been selected: the Mohammed VI International University Hospital in Bouskoura and its counterpart in Rabat. The goal is to boost operational efficiency by 30% by 2027 through advanced digital tools.

“This is not just about digitizing processes, but about building the foundations of digital health sovereignty in Morocco,” stated the FM6SS board.

Beyond technological know-how, the partnership includes on-site support, a comprehensive digital training program for healthcare professionals, and the deployment of internationally certified digital solutions.

“We believe in a cooperation model that empowers Moroccan stakeholders to lead their own digital health transformation,” said Mostafa Lassik, CEO of MipihSIB.

With over 50 years of expertise in digital health in France, MipihSIB brings to the table its deep knowledge in health data hosting, certified under HDS (Health Data Hosting) standards.

The agreement aims to position Morocco as a replicable model for digital health transformation in Africa, particularly at a time when cybersecurity threats are on the rise.

By hosting medical data on sovereign, ethically governed infrastructure, Morocco ensures the security, confidentiality, and control of sensitive health information—laying the groundwork for digital trust.

This partnership is structured around six key pillars: access to care, professional training, health prevention, research and innovation, artificial intelligence, and sport & health.

Through this alliance, the FM6SS reaffirms its ambition to make Morocco a regional leader in digital health and a driving force for tech innovation across the African continent.
