Morocco and Italy to launch joint Chamber of Commerce in Rome

Morocco and Italy are preparing to take a significant step forward in their economic relationship with the launch of a Moroccan Chamber of Commerce, set to be officially unveiled in Rome on November 19. According to sources familiar with the initiative, the inauguration will be held at the Italian Senate and is expected to attract high-level government officials and key business figures from both countries.

Morocco’s Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, is scheduled to attend the event, alongside prominent personalities such as Karim Zidane and several Italian ministers. The ceremony will also welcome a delegation of Moroccan and Italian investors, signaling strong bilateral support for the new institution.

Though the official launch is happening in November, the chamber has been in the works since July. It aims to create a structured, long-term framework for deepening trade ties between Morocco and Italy. With its headquarters in Modena and additional branches in Rome, the chamber is positioned to serve as a strategic bridge for companies looking to enter or expand in the Moroccan market.

The initiative will focus on key industries that are central to both economies, including textiles, automotive manufacturing, innovation, and tourism. Organizers hope it will not only streamline business operations between the two countries but also stimulate new partnerships and joint ventures.

This launch is also part of a broader economic vision that includes the Global Investment & Economic Forum (GIEF), scheduled for spring 2026 in Marrakech. The forum will bring together investors, policymakers, and business leaders to explore the opportunities Morocco offers to Italian companies, reinforcing the chamber’s mission of fostering stronger economic ties across the Mediterranean.
